RisTalk is an app for managing important communications with family and friends, as well as your location in case of an emergency. That's why our top priorities are "no one can see the contents" and "don't leave more information than necessary."
1. Messages can only be read by the sender and the recipient.
Messages, photos, voice messages, and files are locked before being sent from your smartphone. Only the recipient's smartphone and your smartphone can access them.
The key never leaves your smartphone. Therefore, even the RisTalk administrators cannot read the contents of your messages.
The preview of the latest message in the contact list will also display "🔒" and the content will not be written to the server.
2. Once received, it will be deleted from the server.
The message is deleted from the server as soon as it reaches the recipient's smartphone.
Even if the recipient's smartphone remains turned off, the message will automatically be deleted from the server after a maximum of 7 days. If the message hasn't been delivered after 3 days, you will be notified that the message was not delivered to the recipient.
The record of your conversation will only remain on your and the other person's smartphones.
3. Translation and transcription are done on your smartphone.
Translation of foreign language messages, voice transcription, and background removal of stamp images are all processed on your smartphone.
We do not send text or voice recordings to external translation services or our servers.
4. Your place is "only when you decide to" and "only as much as you need."
Location recording only begins when you turn on "monitoring." Before starting, we will always inform you on the screen what data will be collected and how it will be used.
The recorded location (footprint) will automatically disappear after 24 hours.
Whether or not to include your location in the message "I'm safe" is up to you, the sender (it's initially set not to include it).
The only person you choose to "watch over" will receive information about your whereabouts.
5. I've made it so that I don't suddenly receive messages from people I don't know.
Messages from people not in your contacts will be marked as "pending approval" and will not be displayed in notifications.
The message "Are you okay?" (checking on someone's well-being) can only be sent by someone whose contact information you both have.
Your email address will not be visible to other users, nor can it be used for searches.
6. You can see with your own eyes whether you are being protected now.
Under "Privacy Protection" at the bottom of the monitoring tab, an indicator light will show whether encryption and deletion from the server are working correctly (green = normal).
If you notice anything unusual, it will be highlighted in red, and you can notify the developer with a single button click. Only the app version and the type of bug will be sent; your name, email address, and message will not be included.
7. It also disappears cleanly when you stop using it.
Deleting your account will automatically delete any data remaining on the server, including your profile, photos, and files you've sent in chats.
Backups are stored only on the smartphone and not uploaded to iCloud.
